Using an existing kitchen layout, students were instructed to establish an underlying grid using the provided dimensions to draft a 1 point perspective. Vanishing points and horizon lines were given to keep all drawing views consistent. Lines were plotted on trace paper using the grid and measuring to the correct points. Embellishments on cabinetry woodwork, hardware, molding, counter tops and equipment were left to the students to add their own design flair. The final drawing was later transferred to 24”x36” vellum paper in 1/2” = 1’-0” scale using HB, 2H and 4H leads.
